Day 4 News...
Hello from Bockleton! Our final full day has been packed full of excitement with rock climbing, obstacle courses and environmental art (photos coming soon). We had a healthy breakfast, a packed lunch with wraps and lasagne (or vegetarian pasties) with vegetables and salad.
We also got VERY muddy pretending to be beavers and doing the dam building activity in the stream near to Bockleton. We think some clothes may have to be binned on return as some 'beavers' built their dams very enthusiastically and then sat in the ponds that they had created! Sorry mums/dads/nans! It was, however an excellent excuse to make sure EVERYONE showered again today and provided an easy way to check whether they had, during a quick post shower 'mud check' :-).
For our final free time there was a mini-disco and a choice of football, adventure playground, the library, pool and table football. Most of the Chad Vale group came to have a dance to the classics...YMCA, Cha Cha Slide, the macarena and many more! Mr. Cham, who was due to pay us a visit, would have been doing his range of 'air instruments' but unfortunately work came before dancing and he sent his excuses. Miss Nolan, however, who arrived this morning and is staying overnight did enjoy a little 'boogie'.
We had a lovely supper of home-made flapjack and milkshake/squash and all the rooms were fast asleep by 10.05pm! Tomorrow is our final day and the children are looking forward to coming home- prepare your washing machines and a good hot bath...they will need them!
See you tomorrow...

Hello All!
Hello everyone! It is Miss Grosvenor here. We are having a fantastic time here at Bockleton. Today we have been horse riding which was great fun. Then we had some woodland games where we made birds nests and played hide and seek in the woods. The falconary show was amazing but was a little bit scary!
This evening we had a disco and a dance competition with the other school here. Hopefully we will continue the dancing tomorrow. Some children were able to watch the spain v's Germany match and I think everyone was happy with the result.
Tomorrow we are going rock climbing which looks exciting but I dont know if I will be able to climb all the way to the top (I will try my very best!) We are also going to be making dams but Ill update you on that tomorrow.
Hope you are all ok at Chad Vale, we are all missing you and will see you on Friday.
Goodbye love from Miss Grosvenor x

Day 3 News
Hello from Bockleton...
We've had a lovely day, hores-riding at a local riding centre and a brilliant falconry display where we all got a chance to have an owl, a harris hawk or a falcon land on our arm! There are lots of photos of this- check tomorrow morning, and hopefully we will have published them.
We hope you enjoyed our letters...some of us have been missing home this evening but we still enjoyed the disco and have now made our way up to bed, for lights out in 20 minutes. We're lookin forward to rock climbing and environmental art tomorrow.
Our teachers are a bit tired so this message is a bit shorter than the others, but they may write a bit more once we are asleep!
See you all on Friday,
Love the Bockleton Children xxxx
PS- Lauren has had a lovely birthday cake with candles and enjoyed the disco. You will be speaking to her soon...!

Letters home!
Please see below for your letter home!
We've had a good day today, after quite an early start (6.05am and all the Chad Vale boys were awake and playing knock door run!!) After some stern words, they returned to their rooms for a further hour and a half rest and relaxation before a tasty breakfast of cereal, followed by sausages, scrambled eggs, beans and toast, tea and coffee.
We split into 3 groups today, Mr Sansom took a group for the low ropes, Miss Millward took a group for team games and Miss Grosvenor went with the zip wire. WE have photos and video of these coming soon...
We had an earlier 'lights out' this evening and by 10pm, all of the boys were asleep! Some of the girls took a little longer, as had to finish their "pajama party fashion show and make up salon/boutique"!
We're off horse riding tomorrow (in the morning) and then we have the falconry display in the afternoon. We hope to report that WE have woken the children up tomorrow, instead of the other way round!
Love from Bockleton...see you all soon! xx

We have arrived!
Hello from Bockleton! WE arrived safely and enjoyed a lunch of freshly baked baguettes and a choice of cheese or tuna mayonnaise with lots of salad available! We did the local 3 mile walk through the surrounding countryside, visited Bockleton Church and farm, saw some cows, sheep and some very smelly pigs! The sun's been out and our free time was spent playing football, exploring the grounds and playing on the adventure playground.
Our evening meal was roast chicken, potatoes, peas and carrots and was very well received by the children on my table (the comments of 'this is like a restaurant', 'it's 5 star'!) This pleased the catering staff greatly and will hopefully ensure large portions for the rest of the week!
Most of the boys, and all of the girls have showered this evening. The boys, in particular seem to all have 'very forgetful parents' who failed to pack them ANY soap, toothpaste, shower gel etc... although on deeper inspection of the corners of suitaces, these items were located safely! The boys who have been shower-shy this evening will be gently shoved in their general direction tomorrow... :-)
We hope to publish some photos later on this evening/tomorrow from our walk, and have filmed parts of it for a short film. Internet connection is pretty slow so we're not sure how well we can upload these, but we will try our best!
Missing you all...
